Since 2006 I have been using my Flickr page more than this page to display my photos.

Return to Cervisa home.

Petaluma Rainbow (2006): a scene along the road.

Village Harbor (2005): The harbor of the village of Podstrazje on the Island of Vis on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia.

Village Harbor View(2005): Another view of the Podstrazje harbor, from further up the hill. It's hard to tell if those little stone buildings are fifty years old or five thousand.

Baby Elk in Yellowstone (1991): A family of elk came down to the creek near Norris Basin at twilight. This little guy seemed to be gargling.

Stuck In Traffic (1980)

Marina View (1978): A view from the marina green in San Francisco looking towards Sausalito.

Roman Street (2002): Herculaneum, near Pompeii. Buried in volcanic Vesuvius mud in 79 AD.

Valley Orchard (2002): A Central Valley orchard in Winter.

Mexico

During the Summer of 2001 Hilarie and I drove our 1990 Vanagon from San Francisco all the way to the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo. We went through desert, mountains, jungle, gulf coast and high verdant plains. We went through the biggest cities and the smallest towns. When we got back after six weeks the odometer showed a gain of 9700 miles. It was so great. The land, the ancient ruins, the people - all of it.

Burning Man Tornado (2001): A quicktime video clip of the huge tornados that spin off of the man as he burns.

Grand Canyon (1998): Spring 1999. This view is from Desert View looking upriver.

Colorado Headwaters (1997): In the Summer of 1999 I took a road trip with my son Ricky. This is in Rocky Mountain National Park. The snow melting off that peak is the beginning of the Colorado River. It's just a small stream as it flows through this meadow.

View from Grand Lake Lodge (1997): Looking South. Taken from the restaurant porch near the end of the day. Grand lake Lodge is at the southern entrance to Rock Mountain National Park.

Yosemite Falls (1990): Spring 1992. Photo taken with a Rollei.

Yosemite Falls in Winter (2001): This is the upper falls.

Firehole River Basin (1992): I took three of my kids, Al, Jen and Rick to Yellowstone in the Summer of 1992. Geysers galore.

Secret Blue Pool (1992): At the famous Morning Glory Pool in Yellowstone they haave a sign explaining that the pool is no longer blue because too many copper pennies were thrown into it. Now it's green. No more blue pools. Except that we found this one after crossing a fallen log across a stream, off the trail.

Desert Train (1980): Bonneville salt flats. Notice the guy on the back deck of the caboose.

Storm Approaching Provincetown (1996): Cape Cod, Memorial Day 1996.

Fishing Boats (1980): San Francisco Bay, 1981. I was at the marina green, looking over toward Angel Island. One of my favorites. All primary colors.

Dewaruci Sails at Sunset (1999): In July 1999 I sailed as a guest on the Indonesian tall ship Dewaruci from San Francisco to Long Beach. After participating in the Gold Rush Tall Ship Sail, all the ships raced down the coast. It took five days. It was pure magic. This was taken at sunset just east of Santa Cruz Island in the Channel islands.

Dewaruci (1991): While we were becalmed north of Santa Catalina Island, the crew took me out on their Zodiac boat to take some pictures. There were whales, seals and dolphins all over the place.

Dewaruci Sails (1999): it's hard not to take pictures of those sails.

Cadets (1999): The Dewaruci is an Indonesian Navy training vessel. There are 75 crew and 75 cadets. These cadets are all 21. I wish all the world's military was like these guys.

Dewaruci Approach (2000): Th next year, the Dewaruc came back through San Francisco. I was up on the Golden Gate Bridge waiting.
